Rafael Gonzalez Coronas de Lonsdale Cigar

£26.99

Rafael González was created in the 1930s and its cigars contain a light-tasting blend of filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone. Made by the ‘tripa larga, totalmente a mano’ – a long filler, handmade technique.

It has a fine draw and an even burn, delivering hints of citrus fruit and pepper. Perfect after-lunch or pre-dinner cigar that will improve with age.

Despite its name, the latest addition to the Rafael Gonzalez range is neither a Corona nor a Lonsdale. It is a Hermoso No.4, measuring 5” (127mm) x 48 ring gauge, and joins other classic Havanas of this size such as the El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme, Vegas Robaina Famosos and H. Upmann Connoisseur No.1.

It joins the brand’s Petit Corona and Perla in the UK range and its comparatively heavier ring gauge will no doubt attract the attention of cigar smokers looking to explore a little off the beaten track.

Rafael Gonzalez is sometimes eschewed in favour of more eye-catching Havana cigars. However, a light-flavoured treat is in store for those willing to look past the simple, understated branding. A fine expression of the subtlety and nuance Havanas can offer.

  • Length: 5"

  • Ring Gauge: 48

  • Strength: 1/5

  • Vitola: Hermoso No 4

  • Untubed

  • Smoking Time: 45 Minutes
